Laptop cannot connect with projector

Hello,
I bought my laptop notebook 2 years ago: sony - window vista - basic VGN - C21LH/W. The window vista was so slow; so I change it to window XP... and now it`s getting faster. but when I connect it to projector, it didn`t work...my friend install a program on it but still not work. How could I solve this problem... please help me.

I assume you know how to connect the VGA cable and which function key is used to activate the second display. You will have problems if the laptop display size is not supported by the projector. Many older projectors will not work with wide screen laptops.

I could be that your functions keys do not work correctly after you changed from Vista to XP.
