Hello,
A noted by the post's title, my laptop died on me yesterday while using it. It died just the moment I settled it upon the table during a paper I was writing. Its a Dell Inspiron E1405 laptop plus the battery's been dead for a year so its basically running on the adapter. Any suggestions on fixing it?

Configuration: Windows Vista
Firefox 2.0.0.16

Hi,

check if the charger is correctly plugged in the laptop.

it might be that the battery was disconnected to the laptop pins.

remove it and then plug it back.

Alright, I took a look at it and did what you said, still didn't work. Adapter light wasn't on at all and now after leaving the adapter unplugged from the outlet and laptop overnight it started working again for a few hours or so and shuts off again. Would the adapter be the problem seeing how the light wasn't on after it suddenly just shut off?
