Hi

i dont think that this would be the best way to get your ps3 online.
if you have more that one modem then ....... to be honest not the best way.
there are 2 methods for getting your pc online with a usb modem. they are both easy but one would be you going to the shop and buying a swith.
the other would mean that you will have your modem pluged into your pc, via usb and then you would plug your ps3 to the back of the pc. this will allow the pc to act as a router for the pse, think of it as a very large modem.

i will explain the ps3 to pc connection.

you will need and ether net cable long enough to get from your pc to the ps3.

on your pc go to network settings.
find your active network.
right click on. you might need to go to properties to find this option.
but what you are looking for the the option that says, allow internet sharing.
you might want to restart the pc now.
and while it is off then connect the ethernet calbe to the pc and ps3. connectino for this is usally found at the back of the pc .
once you have turned on the pc again you should then be able to connect the ps3 to the internet.
all you need to do know is setup the profile on the ps3 with a valid email.
now get out there and have fun.
