Scanning with a mac

Hello,

I have a macbook and I have a HP deskjet F380 all in one printer.
My Mac recognized the printer since day one and I have never had any trouble printing.
I am now trying to scan. I was advised to do it through the image capture application but it doesn't recognise my HP printer as a scanner...

Please help
