360 and ps3 ip address problems

Hello,
okay primarily im trying to get interntet on to my ps3 n 360. i have a wired modem so i jus switch the ethernet cord from my computer to the game system. but now its failing the ip address test n i learned that its because i need to go to the network options n share the connection but when i cut it on to share the internet on my computer goes away n it still does not work on the game system. n e answers?

I had the same problem if your router is connected to computer than go on computer check windows firewall and allow it through and check PPPoE settings

Hello, I have at&t as my provider and we use the 2-Wire modem. We weren't getting a good signal for our PS3 so I bought a Netgear router. I hooked up the two together and I can get on the desk top and the laptop just fine. But we can not get on the internet on the PS3 for online gaming. Also the System is about 40ft away and only shows about 45% signal. Any ideas to fix this.........Thanks
