I can't connect to the Internet onmy laptopClosed

Omg. I have a Sony vaio and it's worked fine up until a couple weeks ago. I took it to bestbuyand had geek squad take a look. They fixed it. It worked for a couple weeks and now I can connect to the Internet ne more. I have a strong connection to my router too and my desktop connects fine. Can ne one help me please??

Step by step would be very helpful. Lol

Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 3.6.3

my name s nandakumar. im using a vodafone sim in my n79 mobile. wen i connect my mobile to  sony vaio wth my mobile, im not able to get an internet connctn...i made sure tat im able to connect it in mobile alone, but not wth my laptop... can anybdy help me to fix ths pblm???
