Trouble charging!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello,
my ipod touch nano was given to me without a charger ,so I got one for it and when I plug I into the computer it doesn't do anything at all . All it says connect to power ? (Its been tried on many different computers) so what could I do to fix my problem?

Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

Dear Sir,

You can let it to charge via the USB cable by

connecting it to your computer. You still can

claim for obtaining a proper charger at the

store.
