that woul indicate that your cpu is not set up right. or plugged in properly. i would look in that area.
Sorry, this is my first build so i lack some knowledge, i have put the cpu in and secured it down then placed the heatsink on and plugged in the cpu fan to the motherboard, what could i have done wrong?

using your motherboard manual you need to check what settings to set on the motherboard for the cpu that you have fitted.

Looking at the manual, I see that there are two power leads that need to be connected.
1 is the nnormal one and the other is an 8 pin plug. this supplys power to the cpu.
check to see all connectors are connected as should be.
let me know if that has made a difference.

I just checked the manual and i followed the instructions fine checking both the CPU manual and the motherboard one, i guess it might be a faulty CPU?

any way keep us posted on the outcome.
you could always strip it down and build it outside the case. to see if anything is shorting with the case. sometimes happens.
just put mobo, cpu, one stick of ram (closest to cpu) and graphics card together. try that.
