Hello,

I would appreciate some guidance with this problem that has been bothering me for a long time.

As I am using my computer, the screen will suddenly go black and the keyboard and mouse will stop working. I know this because caps light will not change and neither will the mouse pointer speed lights.

The only thing that keeps working is the sound in the headphones, around one more minute until it buzzes.

All this will happen whether I am playing or just using a text editor, though it is more usual if there are games or videos involved.

These are the computer's specs:

MSI X79A-GD65 8D (MS-7760)
Intel Core i7-4930K
32 GB (DDR3-1600 DDR3 SDRAM)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (It also happened with the 770)
Intel(R) Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA RAID Controller
Crucial_CT240M500SSD1 (240 GB, SATA-III)
Intel Raid 5 Volume (3726 GB)
Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 10.0.14393.969 (Win10 RS1)

Thank you all for your time.

Greetings,

Your issue is very unusual in the sense that strange things happened like the sound is the only thing working until it buzzes.

It certainly looks like a motherboard issue to which only a qualified technician can attend to.

Good luck

Thank you.

As I suspected the same, I have bought another motherboard, but I will not have it until late July, so I hoped it wouldn't actually be that bad and I was missing something.

Thanks for the fast reply.

Best regards.
