Can't access my c drive by double clicking

Hello,
Please explain how i can solve this problem, when ever i double click on the c drive, a mesage comes out saying, with what program do you want to open it and all the program available will not even open it. please i want to just double click to open the drive which i believe is the normal way of access it.

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

Hi,
It is a virus which is causing this.
you can access your drive by right-clicking on it and then select explore.
update your antivirus as well.

I understand that it is a virus but it will not let me add or open i can explore but it will not let me add my mcafee any ideas
