Will someone explain to me what? How? my neighbour changed my laptop from windows to Linux and put Ubuntu on it? I flipped out and he supposedly put it back. Witch I do have windows again and it seems to be ok but theres like residue left over or something. Is what he did harmful to my computer and can he have put some spy thing in my laptop? What do you think I should do? Please help and thank you.

Hi Bilijean74,

It is possible that after deleting the Ubuntu some files were left on the hard drive. These may be some backup files or system files that are no longer used because the OS was changed. Is it possible to delete them manually? I would recommend you to run the Disk Cleanup feature https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/tips-to-free-up-drive-space-on-your-pc-4d97fc4a-0175-8d49-ac2f-bcf27de46d34#delete-files-using-disk-cleanup=windows-7

It is highly unlikely that your PC was affected by that OS change. This is a standard procedure and should not cause any trouble in the future.
Did he install Windows over the Ubuntu installation? If he did so, the Ubuntu cannot be used anymore, so you should not worry for any harmful software.

Hope this helps
