Log in Problem message that my telephone number is wrong

Hello,
When logging in I keep getting a message that my telephone number is wrong. I have not changed my phone number in many years. Why am I getting this message?

I use my I-Pad and now I am trying to put Facebook on my cell phone. I have had both devices for a very long time. One is an I-Pad and one is a verizon phone HTC.

Please advise - What am I doing wrong?

From you pad, log off and try your phone.
