Hello,

Although flash is installed in windows 10, it will not open videos that are associated with edge or ie11.

Is this something to do with flash.ocx?

Also, in ie11 under add-ons, it lists "Shockwave Flash Object" as not available (under publisher) but status is enabled.

Please note the flash player works fine in Firefox browser.

Your help on this issue would be appreciated.

Regards,

This is by design. Even if you install it, the Edge will disable it and tell you it did so. In theory, with the standard of HTML5, you shouldn't need an extra player. Use chrome!

ac3mark,

I beg to differ, the Edge browser is designed to use Adobe Flash if you so desire. The Browser ie11 is also designed to use Adobe Flash.

My question is why are they not working?

Also, as stated in my original Email, in ie11 under add-ons, it lists "Shockwave Flash Object" as not available (under publisher) but status is enabled. Can you explain what this means and why?

You obviously know more about it than I (Microsoft for that matter) do. Look at this thread and ask yourself why MS has't addressed this. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_internet-insider_spartan/flash-player-not-working-with-edge/51912c51-3095-4b39-9892-071e85e8c40d?page=4

Once again, make certain all of your updates are applied and USE chrome (this is adobe official stance)!
