Black screen with Beeps

When I turn my LAPTOP DELL INSPIRON N5010 CORE i5 on, all I get is a black screen. No logos; nothing. I can hear it running; lights along top for DVD player are on.Beeps sounds regularly. I CLEANED THE ram contacts by pencil eraser thart did not resove the problem After that 1)took out battery,2) removed power cable 3)pressed start for 59 seconds 4) put he main plug on 5) Iserted the battery, found start button on without pressing.problem not solved Beeps keep sounding regularly. No progress at all Please, Can you help me?

How many Beeps you got?
How many RAM you have in your laptop?

If you have two, then,

1) switch off the laptop
2) remove the battery
3) remove RAM completely and insert one RAM on one slot
4) reseat the battery
5) switch on the laptop

Hi. I get 8 beeps continuously with a pause of 3 to 4 seconds and it continues,
I have 2 rams and I have already removed one and tried.Issue still remains unsolved.

WITH ONLY ONE RAM IN PLACE I get beeps REDUCED TO 5 continuously with a pause of 3 to 4 seconds and it continues,

If you know how to remove CMOS battery from motherboard of your pc, then switch off the laptop and try to clear CMOS and then try to switch on the laptop and see again.

As you said beeps reduced to 5 with single RAM try with that RAM. If nothing works it may be LCD failure according to Dell Inspiron Beep codes
