My WD passport is not being recognized by my laptop. The light comes on and i can hear a sound like it is spiraling...but the drive is not there. Help... I need the data on the drive.

Hi Sharla,

Check if the drive is visible in Disk Management. Does it have a drive letter and a file format? If the drive is not there, search for it in Device Manager, under the USB devices. If it is there, uninstall it, restart the PC and plug it back in. If the drive is still unrecognized, try it with different USB cable and on another PC.

Hope this helps
