I suggest you try a free product called SlimDrivers. It will identify, download an install all the drivers you need. Just Google the name for a download location.

Good luck

Then you have the wrong driver or you have a hardware failure with the audio chip.

Hello sweet2112,
Did you run the application you downloaded?...
Double click on it and follow the procedures.. and then restart your pc..
Other method is that..
Go to device manager under audio devices right click on your audio device and select update driver..
If it ask for location where the download driver situated provide that path
For ex. if your download driver situated in download folder then select browse and then go to download folder..
Hope it helps..
For further query post here..

Ask a question
Yea i ran the installation and it restarted and still wasnt working, so i did as you suggested and clicked update drivers and led it to the right file and it started updating. Its now asking for me to 'insert the compact disk labeled 'Realtek AC97 Audio Driver Disk'. It also suggests i can copy files from an alternate location such as floppy disk or network server.

so that the update was not complete successfully?..
During update it shows any error message?..
Ex. Not compatible with your sound card..

No error message or anything, i keep getting my hopes up cos everything seems to work until the insert disk message pops up. So its not letting me update.... For some reason
