Desktop gone can only access task mgr.

Hello,
Help!! this morning I tried to download my fun e-cards & since then, my whole desktop disappeared. everything I try tells me Explorer.exe. unable to locate component. The application has failed to start beause this file needs to be installed. SDDOCVW.dll I have tried going to internet explorer but just sending me back to AOL. Screen comes up on Aol but never loads. any advice???Thanks

Hi,
try to boot in safe mode. press F8 at start up.
try doing a system restore to restore your computer to a date when you did not yet installed the software.
this should bring your computer back to normal.
repair your windows as well.
