Recently just built a rig. Assembled it on my dining table, no problem. Finished it, and put the side panel
So I can transfer it to my desk. Plugged all the cables ( mouse, keyboard etc.) The last part was the power cable, I go and plug it into a power outlet and my PC turns on. Fans, and lights go off. After about 3 sec, PC shuts off on its own.

I flip the power switch off on the back after all the fans and lights die out. I flip the power switch on soon after and the same thing happens, turns on...3 sec of power.....shuts off.

Rough specs:
PSU - Silencer ZIII 500 w
GFX - 660ti boost
MOBO - ASRock z77 EXTREME4
CPU - I5

I suspect either a bad PSU or MB. Is it possible to try another PSU?

You need to start your debug process by disconnecting everything but the motherboard and PSU. Then double check the power connections to the MB.
with no memory you should get a beep when you turn it on.

Then add the memory and hard drive and other devices, one at a time.

Good Luck
