Hello,
I have a Dell Dimension 4600 that is running Windows XP Professional. Last year I replaced the original CD writer with the HP dvd1040. My problems are:
1. CDs burnt with the original writer are registering as blank on both drives of my system: the 1040 and the original DVD ROM drive, BUT work on other systems.
2. CDs and DVDs that I now burn are sometime registering as blank on both drives or as blank in one or the other drive.
3. CDs and DVDs that are registering as blank on my machine work perfectly well on other machines.
4. Some CDs and DVDs burnt and working fine on other machines are registering as blank on my machine.

Any info as to how I may address these problems would be greatly appreciated.

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 7.0
