Hello,

I have an old Fujitsu Lifebook Series C that have a damaged PCMCIA slot (2).
The slots are needed for my ethernet card or wireless card.

Is it possible to run my Internet connection over one of my USB ports? If so, how?

I believe I have first generation USB 1.0. I would consider upgrading to USB 2.0 if what I want to do is possible.

I am asking because I have seen some plugs that has an RJ45 on one end and a USB plug on the other and was wondering if it is as simple as purchasing one of those in hope that my system would find the connection.

Thanx in advance for your help. :)

Configuration: Windows 98
USB 1.0
Internet Explorer 7.0
FireFox

Yes you can buy a USB network adapter for your laptop. The USB 1.0 socket should have no problems keeping up with the internet traffic. You might get a message saying your connection would be faster if plugged it into a USB 2.0 socket. You can ignore it - every USB 2.0 device gives that message even if it's not true.

Good Luck
