so after the "installation-restart" from the recent Anti-virus , i can log in, BUT, the computer autimatically logs me off, it doesn't shut down, it just goes back to the log-on screen ... I've tried staritng in SAFE MODE , but that didn't help either ! please help

I have the exact same problem! I mean it loggs in I get to see the desktop background picture and then it eventually goes back to the "Welcome" screen, and loggs me out :(
It was when I downloaded the Av... Ag or idk antivirus... I suggest for someone else not to try it at all.

Ok my computer is fixed now i got in a computer tech guy but i watched him the whole time so his what he did
He started off by running the computer with a disk so the computers hardrive aint running its the disk its slow as hell but u will b able to find a program off the internet 2 run ur comp this way anyway u can save anything you need onto a usb if something is really important. He then checked 2 see if the virus was deleted which it was though it had enterfered with the windows logging on system so he re enstalled windows but it had deleted the windows thing as a virus!!! so he copies the files from his laptop same windows edition of course and replaced them with my old windows logging in system but if all u need is some important files find the program which allows u 2 run ur pc through the comp and then mabey OS ur hole system :O yep its shit i know if u dont know what 2 do cuz my instructions r shitty but prob calling ur IT guy is the best thing if u dont know 2 much about ur PC

READ BOTTOM IF YOUR NOT BOTHERED TO READ IT ALL :D

=P u all sound like the classic home users :D ... I guess this is a lil late, but...

first off all: this could be due to a lame, useless and utterly stupid anti-virus program (AVG Free is a monster!! paid for AVG is ok...) that found "Userinit.exe" as a threat (located in C:\WINDOWS\System32\Userinit.exe)

If you ever install 2 antivirus programs, never set them both to startup automatically... they should never both run at the same time.. and in some cases they battle each other for controll over the quarantined files!! :P

Recommendation for future disasters:
Get "Hiren's Boot CD 9.9" download it free at http://www.download-archive.net/hirens-boot-cd-99-iso.php
sorry but thats the first "hopefully free" download I found... :P

boot from that and navigate to mini windows (or mini xp, I cant remember =S)

that creates a mini windows xp (duh...) in a small partition on the hard drive, but lets you have access to your original files :D so you can delete/open/run/edit/randomly-stare-at whatever you want :D

(btw, you dont have to format your computer to re-install your os... its called repair/rebuilding... althought it most likely wont fix your problem since it is program related and not os related :D ...)

IMPORTANT: for your future computers, you should all partition your hard drives and install your OS on the smaller partition (for xp around 10GB-15GB will be !plenty!) and all your programs and files will go on the other one/ones... so if anything goes wrong with the os... reformat that partition and install again... no personal data loss...

if something goes wrong on the programs partition... NEVER CALL IN THE TECHNICIAN!!!! they are making 100% profit of the rediculously overpriced quote they give you!! THATS RIGHT! you could do it yourself with the right tools (which most are free)....

ring the techy and ask if you can take the hard drive to the technician/fix-it-company... honest technicians will tell you minor problem fixes over the phone...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For the smart readers who read the first line and understood:

I honestly recommend getting "Hiren's Boot CD 9.9" since it can help fix almost any problem if you know how to use it and what the functions/tools do...

the mini windows xp feature can let you fix pretty much ANY PROBLEM!! you just have to kno how you would remove the problem if your computer was booting up normally in the first place :D

google it, you should be able to get it free (if you can, get it as an iso image and burn it to a cd/dvd with imgburn, which is free) that will make it definitely bootable...

ahh I have run out of useless pc wisdom...

you can tell I was bored and obviously not searching for this when I stumbled apon it :D
