Hi! i bougt a new Hard drive and tried to install Windows XP and it would always end up on BLUE screen.....check for viruses, check for new hard drive and etc...
I've already read an article about this but the difference is the solutions are for laptops.
I've been looking for the same solution in my BIOS set-up but i can't find the said COMPATIBILITY / IDE? by the way i have a MSI motherboard.

thanks in advance!

Hello,
Let us know your motherboard model number also. Is it PATA or SATA hard drive? Let us know your Hard Drive capacity and brand name also.

Hello,

Try this 1

1) First check your connections.

2) Some SATA hard drives comes with a jumper to limit it to 1.5Gb/s. Look if your

SATA hard drive is having a jumper. If a jumper exists then remove the jumper

and then connect the hard drive to your motherboard.

3) Go to BIOS settings and make sure that your hard drive is detected.

4) If the problem still exists then check the SATA controller option.

Click on the below hyperlink "Manual" and download it.

Manual

Refer to the information given under "Integrated Peripherals" in page 3-11.

Good Luck
