Printing 1997-2003 Excel Files

Hello,
I am running a new laptop loaded with Vista 64 bit and Microsoft Office 2007. When I receive an XLS file in 2003 format it uploads in the 1997-2003 Compatible firmat. I can read it and edit it but I can't print it. If i create my own XLS file in 2007 and save it in the 1997-2003 format and the reopen it I can print it. It appears to olny happen on files that I receive (e.g via Email). Any clues as to how to fix this?

Configuration: Windows Vista 64 bit
Internet Explorer 7.0

Thanks for the suggestion but it did not work. Any other hints would be appreciated.
