Cant install itunes 8.0 becuz of my windowsxp

Hello,
i just bought an ipod nano chromatic and i was able to download the itunes version 8.0 watever the latest yea and when i try to install it, it comes up with something about my windows xp version can someone help me so that i can have itunes v8 and get music on my ipod yea thanx plzz someone reply quick! oh yea and i have a big silver ipod with a big screen and i also need version 8 so plz help me tyvm
