Hello,
can anyone please help me my laptop will start up the windows screen runs then the computer goes straight to a black screen with what looks like a white piece of paper in the center and some fuzz. the mouse arrow shows up and will move. when i press the power button for a few seconds the windows hibernation screen shows up and it hibernates. I would love to save the laptop but even more the information on it. thank you so much for you time and expertise in this matter.

Hi,

You will do this blindly:

Restart your PC, logon and wait for the black screen to appear

1) Make Ctrl + Alt + Del: nothing appears on screen, yet the task manager was opened. We'll have to do the rest in the dark, and this is where we thank the keyboard shortcuts) (to be safe, you can do the same operation on another pc to side to see what it does)

2) Make Alt + F: it opens the File menu of Task Manager, but we still see nothing

3) To Enter: it opens the "Create a new job, " but we still see nothing

4) Type "cmd" then "Enter "

5) Then restart your pc It rebooted normally, and all is well.

Press F8 repeadetly during booting. That should get you into "Safe Mode" I would check the screen resolution if safe mode starts OK.

You might need to start the PC from the Windows DVD and do a "repair". If you did not get the DVD or did not create a repair CD you might be able to download the CD ISO on another computer.

Good Luck
