2nd SATA hard drive not recognized in device

Hello,
having just put a 2nd SATA hard drive inside my computer,
when i go device manager , it does not show up in there ,
have checked all the connections , they all fine
the hard drive i have installed is from a prveiously used computer , and does have data on it , which i want 2 format
any suggestions on this will b greatly appreciated.. thx

Right click in my computer, manage, storage , disk management...something like this.
and see if you can see that drive. if so, format it, bring it up online

Enable the drive by going into the bios, usually by hitting f2, depends on the computer
