You may need to enter BIOS settings and disable SATA configuration. I'm not sure about your system BIOS environment but try to look for the settings of SATA, and then just disbale it. Or if you are in UAE, I can provide you a Windows XP that contains the SATA driver so you can install XP in your machine wiithout going to your BIOS settings. I can also mail you a CD, if you want.

Hey, TRY HARDER.

Just kidding. Go into the BIOS by pressing F10 when it starts up, its under the system configuration tab, or something of that sort.

Its called SATA Native support or something like that, just arrow down to it, hit enter, and select Disabled.

Hit F10 to save changes and then reboot.

Walllla!

People are not finding the option in the bios of the DV6000 cause it is not there. HP locked down that version of bios to provide a fool proof system for the dumb people.

Installing windows 7 will be the solution to this problem..

or you can spend a few hours getting the needed stuff together to slipstream an XP cd.
but to do that you will need the drivers for the Sata controller.
