Hello,
i am having a problem with my newly bought game need for speed undercover both graphics and lag problem!

MY SPECIFICATIONS:
2g ram!
2x 2.6 ghz processor (intell cor2 duo or something like that lol)!
Nvidia Geforce 7300 gs (256mb)! (latest driver)(scince 2 days ago lol)
Windows xp!
dircet x 9.0!

Yesterday i scanned for viruses with Norton 360 avg ad aware spy bot etc and optimized my disk but still having lag problems wit nfs and nothing else! (disk is not scratched!)

My graphics Problem:

None of the lines are straight there all zigzgy! its hard to explain but you know in the program (paint) that comes with xp when you draw a diagonal line its not straight its zigzagy! thats what absolutley everything is like in nfs! ive done all the graphic options and resoulutions and stuff! i did notice by changing the resoloutin does make it better but its still not normal ive tried the auto config button on my moniter but still have the same prob! Is it a problem with game or pc!

My Performance Problem:

Just the normal lag lag lag lag mini freeze lag(lol) i tried lowering the graphics but nearly nill difference from highest to lowest! At the start of some vids it lags you can hear sound but not see the screen for only like 2 seconds( i think maybe thats just the game lol)

If you Have a soloutin tell me plz and if you have this game on pc tell me how it runs and your specifications! Replys are highly appreciated!

Jayden

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.0.4

I can play this fine on max settings 1600x1200

My PC is:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 (4 x 3.4ghz) Overclocked
nVidia 8800gtx (648/2106mhz) Overclocked
8gb Corsair Dominator DDR2 1066mhz
Western Digital Velociraptor 300gb 10,000RPM

I get a pretty solid 45+ FPS

Your graphics card is a bit old, have you considered upgrading to an nVidia 9600 or similar? they shouldn't be too expensive.

Is your monitor LCD or CRT? (about 5cm thick or 50cm thick?) If it's LCD you should find it's native resolution and set the game's resolution to that for best results and no zig zag bits.

More info:
ive noticed that there is a black flashing square on the side wich is really weird! its the same black square that flashes when you adjust video settings!

i can play racedriver grid perfictley no lags no graphic probs on full everything fine and to play grid you need double the ram!

to fix this

do i need to get better hardware (i have 4x the ram that is required on the case)(ive got a whole series above the graphic card requirement)

change some setting( ive tried every single setting in the game options lol)

just so you know i put it on full and it done like 5 frames per second and least like only 10 and when i rev it the sound lags bad!

Hey i fixed the issue i had with nfs undercover After doing some research and reading other forums it seems that anything with a core 2 duo cpu or quad core runs the game like absolute crap.

I set the processor to affinity and it ran fine.

So how do I set the processor affinity?
1)In Windows open up your game or application. If you are in a game press Alt+tab to come out.
2)Open up Windows Task Manager (Ctl+Alt+Del).
3)Click on the Processed tab and find your game or application
4)Right click on the game or application and select Set Affinity.
5)You will see CPU0 and CPU1 checked. Uncheck either one.
6)Click OK
7)Go back into your game or application and you will now be running your program on one core."

I have to admit its pretty pathetic that very little effort or thought went into the testing of this game before they released it on the shelves.

Give it a try

Hey Da,

Thanks for this tip this worked for me on ace driver GRID...
Unfortunately i have this really weird thing on need for speed shift...
I installed this hotfix for my graphic cards and since i've done this the gamee
show only when driving some black widows on the screen mostly on the place where a car is driving and they don't cover the whole car...
Before i installed this hotfix it runned perfectly... :S
I have a Core I7 2.67Ghz
MSI X58 Pro E motherboard
Radeon HD4800
6Gb RAM
1Tb HD
Should i uninstall my drivers and install again without hotfix or is there another way to fix this issue?...
I hate installing drivers and all that crap it's too risky :S

Thx in advance

With most any new racing game raid 0 config with two sata II hard drives is a must.that likely whould be your problem.besides that old ass graphics CARD UPGRADE TO A ATI RADEON 4850 WITH 1 GB GDDR3 or equivlent.

The code should be at the top of the pamphlet inside the box.

I am running windows 7 build 7077. NFS UC worked great in XP and Vista. In W7 I get the load screen and then nothing. If I leave it run I get a BSOD. I have tried all compatibility modes. I have reinstalled. It is a legal copy. Even if it is a system pig, I am running plenty.

Windows 7 Build 7077
Asus M2N-SLI
AMD 6400+ X2 3.3ghz
GeiL Black Dragon 8gb (2gb x 4)
Nvidia GeForce 8600gt 1gb

When running just desktop, I have over 7gb RAM available. I can't get far enough into the game to adjust the video settings.

I have downloaded and installed the nfs patch as well as nvidia's windows 7 driver update.

Zoure bet you cant play it on highest settings:

My system cant even run it:

My PC is:

Intel Core 2 Dual 3,16 ghz OC to 3,4 Ghz.
4GB (3,2GB) Ram OCZ 1333mhz oc to 1444mhz.
ATI HD4870 1 GB OC GPU 780 Mhz Mem 3,7ghz.
ASUS P5Q3
500 GB Seagate Barracuda 7200 rpm SATA 2
OCZ 600 Watt.
Windows XP Professional 32 bit.

The problem is totaly in the scripting of NFS UC
Instead of the normal sized scripts they made it so damn large,
it drains everything from your pc.
Even PC's with Intel I7 8 gb ram DDR3 and GTX295 in 2 sli. still will have problems.
Yes people indeed have problems with one of the better set ups.

Well just run it on low settings, doesnt make a diffrence for the looks its ugly any way.

Guys, dont worry about your machine, this is a engine problem. I have a XBOX360 and this game is lagging and, sometimes, CRASHING! Solution: Reboot.

NFS Undercover game producers were lazy with this game.

Lets wait for NFS Shift.

I had the same issue concernig windows 7 compability with NFS Undercover... the game was not starting, after the first loading bar. and if left - blue screen of death is apearing. i've tryed everything! and now im playing ! My mistake was - that i was sure that my VGA drivers are the newest, but when i went to nVidia - i've found drivers for Windows 7 (190.62) which fixed the problem !!! Pro Street and Undercover are now better than ever ! Maximum graphic details - and the performance is briliant !
