Ethernet Controller driver missing

Hello,

I have recently had a virus. re-installed my windows xp application only to find out that i cannot connect to the internet due to " ethernet controller driver not found "??????? I have been trying to download drivers - etc for TWO WEEKS..PLEASE HELP!!

Go to www.dell.com to download the correct driver. Copy it to a flash drive and transfer it to your Dell computer.

Go to dell.com, scroll to bottom click on drivers and downloads. Click on model. Enter your model information. Download the driver under network and or communication.

I have install windows xp nd install the ethernet driver.But next day the lan is connect mean( lan conntivety )tho aha rahi hai magar jo kuch network pa hai wo nahi ah raha maen (the system is not ping my server and any other client and other client ping this system) so the resert the machine the ping is come nd network is fine n ok.
how can solve this problem

You know? im up this same stump! I've an Acer 5100 aspire that i am locked out of "C" drive by some form of acer security. It left me with another drive with only 512 bytes. Does ANYONE have a clue what i can do about this nonsense? I'd be very greatful!!

I ran a disk defragmenter on my e-machine T3256 which I have done successfully a number of times before. This time, however, the machine would boot-up only to turn itself off after a short while - not even time enough to get into "SAFE MODE". After much frustration I decided I must reload XP-Pro since the e-machine would not stay on long enough for me to even try anything else. The OS reloaded but WITHOUT the ethernet drivers I had before connecting me to my VERIZON Actiontec router. Since I can't get online, I can't find a way to load a driver into my T3256! I tried using another computer (not even at home) and copying to CD - doesn't work (or I just can't find the right driver). Can you help?

I have an Acer 4720z. I have the same problem. No drivers for net controller anywhere. I even bought the so-called restore discs. They have no drivers on them. What a waste. I called ACER, they were so rude. My advice, throw it away and warn your friends. Acer is made by e machine. NEVER buy another.

I also have an Acer4720Z. I bought the recovery disc's and they don't put the drivers on them. I called, they said to d/l off the website. I tried, didn't work. I download a copy of Black XP, put it on, then went to website and now it works. Acer won't give you the VistA DRIVERS BUT DO GIVE YOU THE xp ONES. tHAT SUCKS. tHE DISC'S SAY THEY'LL RETURN IT TO FACTORY CONDITION, BUT THEY DON'T. wHAT A RIP-OFF!! aCER, gATEWAY AND E-mACHINE ARE ALL MADE BY THE SAME PEOPLE. i'D RECOMMEND not BUYING ANYTHING FROM THEM.

for that u need to have network driver,

if network driver is installed in ur lappy than u can use internet via DSL modem

here is the soluion sinceyour lappie is of acer you can directely go to acer site and enter your product no.
like the site of hp.just enter your model no. and it will guide you all throughout.

All these replies urging us to go to a website and download an updated ethernet controller driver are useless because you can't even access the internet without the ethernet controller, unless you have a second PC already hooked up to work with the internet, then make a copy of the ethernet driver, and then copy it onto the original PC to get it acces the intenet. Most people may have to go to a computer repair store and ask if they can buy the ethernet controller driver for their OS and PC on a CD or flashdrive, or instead, but an external Ehternet controller device and connect it to your PC via USB.

Not entirely true. I am connecting via my blackberry. Can access internet but cant download anything :(
However, some public libraries offer free/member internet. I might try that.

I have the same problem that you had. I have a Compaq Presario SR2010NX. I reformatted my HD and installed XP Pro SP2, and there is no ethernet controller, also PCI Controller, Video controller. Were you able to get the problem resolved, if so, please tell me what to do on this. TIA

Im having probs with my ethernet controller on my toshiba equium A100.

wont recognise plug and play devices ie: mp3 player.

i have the yellow "?" in my divice manager..............how do i get rid an update, tried all sorts.

Even recommended driver updates etc but they all get to the point that says install windows cd "i don't have it"

Must be a simple way to sort this.........really peeing me off now.
