Here is a note to all having issues with 64GB Kingston flash drives. Kingston stamps the metal part of the USB interface with 2 or 3 rows of numbers. The counterfeit ones will not have this marking. If you have a unit without these markings and your having issues with formatting it, you will never be able to format it as a 64GB drive. At best, try to return it to where you purchased it from.

To solve the problem use HP USB DISK STORAGE FORMAT TOOL V2.1.8. You can find it at http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=197. Do not format your 64GB Kingston PenDrive with NTFS file system since it does not function. Use FAT32 instead.

Thanks Trinitron. You got me on the right road. Your link just came up as a blank screen for some reason so with a bit of searching I found another link just in case anyone else had problems.

try to format in NTSF it's too big for FAT (FAT is limited to 4 GB).

FAT32 is limited to 3 (sometimes 4) gb file size. The actual volume time is limited to 30gb.

Try partitioning it into several different drives if you need FAT or just use NTFS.
