Ipod touch screen is white it wont go away!!! [Solved/Closed]

Hello, I was playing sims 3 on my ipod touch then out of no where the loading symbol came on the screen and turned off. So i thought it needed charging. but when it started to charge it the whole screen went white. I've tried to hold the power button for a little bit and the menu button and the volume it just wont work! Please Help!

Did you do a "hard restart" - sometimes this fixes things:
You can do a hard restart of your iPhone or iPod Touch. To do so, just hold the lock button (that is the button at the top of your device) and the home button at the same time until you see the Apple logo on a black background (you usually have to hold the buttons for around 10 seconds before this happens). You can then release the buttons and your iPhone/iPod Touch will restart.

Also If your ipod is jailbroken and it doesnt work at all even when you do the hold down go to your itunes plug it in and hold down the two buttons for a good 30 or 40 seconds youll see a screen pop that says restore or update you must restore in this case to factory settings. Unfortunatley this will rid you of all your stuff including the jail break. Gl to you guys.

'This didn't work... i tried the hard shut down and the n restart thing with the volume up button. am i just retarded or what this is so irritating. i had this update on my ipod for months because i didn't know what it wanted to update so i didn't do it. My brother got a hold of my ipod and updated it and now it has a white screen. i did every type of shut down known possible. it hasn't been fixed. PLEASE HELP!!
