Had the same issue, like everyone else I,
1. Checked the MTU on my computer,
2. Disabled all the add-ons , started in safe mode and facebook opened once in safe mode.
3. Uninstalled / Reinstalled firefox > Same problem.
4. Uninstalled again through add/remove program and noticed that there were two versions of Adobe Flash Version 10. (I work in IT and this has been an issue on other machines, Uninstalled both Adobe Flash 10 ) and reinstalled firefox.
Was able to resolve my issue

Ok guys, I just found the answer on my end (new user here) I swapped out my DNS (domain name server).. I switched it over to google ...their address is 8.8.8.8 OR 8.8.8.4 you can check their site if needed.. after that my pages load tons faster AND I fixed my facebook loading problem! hope this helps

This seems to be a common problem as I too had trouble loading certain sites after extensive searching the web and trying several recommendations I fixed it, first of all I used a registry cleaner(registry mechanic) to clean up my system (helps a common problem and crosses it out) then used (malware anti-malware) software and found out I had a dns trojan which changes dns , basically plays around with your dns n# and makes life hard for you, I couldnt get into facebook and a couple of other sites for about a month, I initially used and changed ,mozilla/internet explorer/opera and avast/avg/norton/bitdefender and other software which they either couldnt pick it up or 1 that did couldnt get rid of it, give it a go! and no I dont work for them, but they were highly recommended round the web.

The same thing is actually happening to me. its very annoying, I've downloaded almost every browser including Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Opera, but all of them don't load it.
It is usually something to do with your network or if you have a proxy or firewall.
But temporarily, a good solution is to use a proxy website which enables you to surf any channel no matter what. Try these:

https://www.stop-block.com/
http://www.schoolanon.info
http://www.freakyaccess.info
http://www.icangetin.info
