Hello,

The Add/Remove utility does not work out of Control Panel, when trying to remove WD.
Is there a way to remove WD manually, I mean MANUALLY.

Thanks,
Jamel

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 7.0

Hello,
May be, you could try with the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. I used it with success to remove some of resistant programs.
Bye

PS : I'm french then I hope that my english is not too bad.

Hello, cannot install Norton 360 2.0 because of windows defender. Norton tech referred me to Microsoft tech, Microsoft refered me to Dell and Dell tech said it was not a program pre set from the factory. Crazy, the only place I located is in the config sys. I can disable (uncheck the box) but Norton still says it has to be removed from the computer. Is it a extension of Live care?

So... this is easy to remove this piece of crap:
so this is what you need to do:

--> Run
--> type - msconfig
--> on the top: TOOLS
--> check programs -> press RUN
--> now find on the list WINDEFENDER - press delete

ok so we remove this crap, then we need to visit regedit

--> RUN
--> regedit
--> FIND "DEFENDER"
--> any entries which you will find just delete (F3 shortcut you can use to "find next")
As far as i remember there are 4 entries whch you need to delete.

RESTART SYSTEM AND ENJOY PORN SITES AGAIN :)

To make sure that we do not have defender in registry, install nice app REGCLEANER - it can be helpfull in the future -
and remove from application, autorun, files, everything similar to name "DEFENDER"

I do not know who created this program but it seems to be a pretty nice machine to make a money - in this case fuel is human stupidness :P
