Cannot find script file "C\WINDOWS\sowar.vbs".

This message is caused by the startup key that sowar made in your computer.

Go to start>run>msconfig

Go to the startup tab and look for "sowar". Uncheck it.

Click apply and ok.

Restart your pc.

Hi! Just want to share something. No offense meant but if you just unchecked it in the msconfig mode, you are just disabling it but the program is till there. I've had the same problem before and I stumble upon this forum and it really works.

I'll give you the link, its a Filipino forum but its really great. So try it if you want. I did this on my PC after having that redtube on my Internet Explorer.

Boot into safe mode (use F8 after the Windows screen is displayed)
use Ctr + Alt + Delete to run explorer.exe // File New Task (run) // enter " explorer.exe " // OK
This will show your desktop icons but not solve the problem

To solve it just do these steps:

1- copy explorer.exe from another clean computer (from C:\WINDOWS) to a flash drive

2- in your computer go to C:\WINDOWS

3- show hidden files from (Tools - Folder Options - View - Show hidden files and folders)

4- delete explorer.exe and any other files that start with explorer...
delete any files that start with "sowar"

5- copy the new file (explorer.exe) from the flash drive

6- log off or restart

7- log on and you should have the desktop back. But you still have to delete sowar files and the sowar startup

download Malwarebytes anti-malware program from this site http://www.download.com/... install it and run it in safe mode. It should fix your problem.

HI..

Just wanna add a resolution to this stubborn SOWAR.VBS..

Here's one,,

Try to download the "HijackThis", it's free. When you finish downloading it.
Install the application. Click the "Do a system scan only",, your going to see all the scanned files including files related to SOWAR. VBS. Check all that files and click FIX.. That's it!!! Problem solved in a minute....
