HP DV9000 Black Screen ... and more

Hello,

So - I've been reading through this forum and I DO have the HP Black screen ... but with a little different spin.

When the laptop boots ... I can see a slight flicker ... not bright ... but you can tell the screen is doing some kind of adjustment ... then BLACK. So - I plugged it into an external monitor ...and I can see the windows XP boot screen on the external monitor ... then nothing. I'm thinking that I have some strange problem with the NVidia chipset ... but I'm not sure. Has anyone else see this? Any ideas?

As much as this ticks me off ... I hate to admit it but I did love my DV9000. PLEASE HELP.
