PC not detecting the I9++i phone

Hello,

I had recently puchased the I9++1 phone.
ButI am not able to connect it to a PC to use as a Mass storage device.
Here is what I did.

Unplug the USB end from the charger, and plug in on to the
PC USB PORT
And the other end to My mobile. Directly connect the phone to pc , with the same cable


I got 3 option s

1) Storage Media
2) Webcam
3) Com Port

I selected the 1st option STORAGE MEDIA

But the PC fails to detect the USB with the folllowing message.

" USB device not recognised.
One of the USB devices connected to this computer has malfunctionsed and Windows does not recognise it".

PLease let me know if
1. If the Mobile is defective OR
2. THe USB cable is defective.
What to be done to solve the issue.

Hi there,

Get in device manager and update the drivers for usb and also for chipset.

Thanks. But
Could you please provide more information as to where can I find the
device manager you mentioned.
I am not seeing an item like that in my phone.
I can not connect to a PC and hence can not download anything from Net as well.
Please advice.
