Dvd burner won't write

Hello,
when i go to burn my movies the message comes up no disk I have tried numerious dvd packages they all say same thing cannot find disk or can't write too disk. I have an Acer home vista, I hope someone can help.

My Acer DVD was not writing either - BECAUSE THE TOASTER IS ONLY DVD+R, and all my DVD's are minus R. It took me 2 hours to figure out, I could'nt imagine such writer still exists.
