When you restart the PC, rapidly press F8, boot in safe mode - with networking to see if this will load it up properly.
uninstall the driver.
if not,
instert the operating system disc and boot from it after rebooting,
press enter, then F8 when prompted, then press R to repair.

Ok i had a problem similar to this.

this does not get rid of virus but when my icons and desktop do not load i:
press: ctrl+alt+del this open your windows task manager
then i go to file---> new task (run...)
then i type in
c:\WINDOWS\tasks
then hit enter.

that then should open your destop.and start bar.

i think that if you want to get rid of the virus or any other problem i would format you computer but put all the stuff you want to keep on a disk or pen-drive.

when your computer is formated all your files are gone you old have your windows files (all the files your computer needs to run on).
