A friend of mine kindly re installed my computer and saved 100's of photographs after it completely crashed with a virus. It came back and everything worked perfectly except there is no sound whatsoever. I've checked the volume control and everything is greyed out and it says no audio device. I have been looking for a website to download from but they all want to scan my system for all sorts of updates.

Can anyone tell me what I need to download and where from
