Dude got to www.handbrake.com I rip everything with it. After ripping to MP4 run it through Itunes converter to video format. Its in your advance Itunes toolbar.

VisualHub was the best one, but it has been discountinued and no upgrade any more.
Then you can try this video to iPod conveter for mac and ffmpeg, both of them are very nice.
