but tell me isnt the computer setting up the settings i mean the lan automatically?
if no then maybe a software like your antivirus is blocking acces to it

#1 First make sure that you are or are NOT NATTED.
#1 Check the IP address and default gateway of your computer. To do this:
a) On most versions of Windows: Go to Start -> run. Type in cmd and press the ok button. In the new window type in ipconfig /all and press enter.

b) On the Mac, following the steps at https://portforward.com/networking/static-Mac10.4.htm
But don't: Click the Configure IPv4 drop down box and select the Manually option.

c) Other OS other than Windows and Mac, how-ever you check the IP and default gateway.

If you are NATTED, your IP address will be one of these:
a) 10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255
b) 172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255
c) 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255
#2 If you are NATTED, is there a device that is between this modem of yours and your computer? If so, what is the brand and model of it?
#3 What software firewall do you have installed on your computer?
