You stated that you had Kaspersky installed and you still had malware? Then moved to McAfee?

Was your system clean to begin with? There are some schools of thought which state that once your system has been infected, it is, from that point forward, compromised because even if you clean the infection, you don't know what other changes were made to the system that were not detected/cleaned. The only way around this is reformat the hard drive and reinstall all software.

Kaspersky, I would say, is a better product than McAfee. Were you using the most recent version? Were your definitions up to date?

What type of websites are you visiting that you are getting malware from? When did the problem begin? Are you the only one using your computer?

Do you have any other anti-malware software on your computer? Do you have the latest Windows updates installed?

Are you using a firewall other than Windows Firewall? This is rated as possibly the lowest protection in regards to firewalls.

Do you download pirated software from unsafe websites? (Porn, Warez?) If so, you're inviting trouble. No amount of software protection will protect you from ignorant actions.
