I cant open any folders

Hello, helpful patrons
i recently downloaded updates for my computer which operates on linux,now my icons are gone and i cant open any folder.Can someone tell me how to fix the problem?

Configuration: Linux
Mozilla 1.8.1.16

cant you restore your computer at an earlier time or uninstall the updates currently on the pc?
