External 80Gb HDD slow down

Hello people, well i have a lil question about how come my USB external 80GB HDD slows down my pc everytime i listen to music from it.. When i used my Windows HDD its fast n everything goes ok.. Is it a failure from my external HDD?

It certainly wont work like an IDE HDD.. USB is know as slower than IDEs... Check if ur USB ports are 2.0
2.0 is fast to read USB HDDs.. Its not a failure of ur External HDD

U must check ur device's speed... It almost happens when u have slow machines and takes time to laod files from it.. Or u just need to upgrade ur RAM performances.. Take care

It's ur cable or simply the speed of ur xHDD :)
Try to tell the vendor about this problem, they might directly why.
