how do you hook a ps3 to internet using a comcast modem and ethernet cable

On the back of your ps3 there should be a hole where you put your ethernet cable and plug the cable in to the comcast modem. however if you are doing wireless use your wi-fi installed in the ps3 and connect to our cable modem that way
