Writting speed when burning

I would like to do know the importance of setting the writting speed.

hi,
well the writing speed is not of great importance but sometimes for some cd or dvd reader where the writing speed has been greater than the reading speed is doesnt read the speed well. i would advise you to write for dvds 16x and for cds 48x
