Help Needed: Regarding Netgear Router

Hello,
Bit of a tricky one, for months I tried to set my PS3 up for online play, after many months of disappointment my friend realised it was because I had a Netgear router.
After much fiddling about we managed to get the PS3 working online, problem is now my Laptop Internet connection will no longer work?
Can anyone help me with this please?

Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 8.0

Yeah for some reason I cant get a internet connection on my laptop now despite the laptop acknowledges my other Computer as a added device but it wont allow me to connect to the internet.
