Compaq Presiario Webcam software

Hello,
I have a Compaq Presario CQ40 laptop and i can use the camera for online webcam, but i can't use it for capturing pictures/videos, is there a software for me to install? or it should be installed already when i buy it? Thanks! :)

Configuration: Windows VISTA
Firefox 3.0.13
