Hello,
My organization is considering purchasing McAfee antivirus for its computers. But some of the computers will be distributed to remote office that do not have internet. Is it possible to update the antivirus on the remote offices computers off-line?

Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 8.0

The answer to your question is yes it can be done.

there is a setting in the mcafee consul to update, all needs to be done is tell the client where to get the updates from. this will be a location on your server instead of from the internet.

Thanks Sharpman.
The remote computers are not on any network. they are on stand-alone.
A staff is saying it is possible to copy updates from another computer and install the updates on the stand alone computers. But am having difficulty accepting that. Please is it possible this way?

Yest it may be possible. but if you go to this link
http://www.mcafee.com/apps/downloads/security_updates/dat.asp

select any of the dat files on there and look at the notes column. there's a text file explaining where the files need to go, so the theory is that the admin guy would need to download the dat file and email/post on a fdd/usb stick to the client who requires update dat file and they can then install it. but obviously the system admin guy is going to need to write a foolproof idiots guide on how to do it.
