Can't get my msn password

Hello,
So I can't log into my MSN hotmail account. I go to log in, and try a password, then choose "Forgot your password" option, I put the little number/letter code. I do that and then it says instructions have been sent to (email i'm trying to get my password for). So how does that help me at all? It sends instructions on how to get it back to the email i'm trying to get my password for. Seriously what am I supposed to do now?

I did that, and they never ask me my secret question or whatever. I put the email I want my password for, and it just keeps saying that it sent an email to THAT email, which I CAN NOT log into. So why do they send an email to it if I can't log into it?
